Begun in 1987, the West Midlands Quaker Peace Education Project (WMQPEP) is a charity funded principally by Central England Quakers dedicated to educating young people for peace. The work is informed by the Quaker philosophy of peace and conflict resolution, and we now have over 30 years of experience.

One of many organisations in the UK promoting best practice in the use of circle time, conflict resolution and peer mediation, WMQPEP has built a strong reputation with the education community in the West Midlands. Read more about what we do.

Since 1994 the work in schools has been undertaken by a small team of staff and freelance trainers. The Director is Sara Hagel. Meet the whole team.

The Project maintains fruitful existing relationships with many schools, while building new programmes as they arise.

The Project continues to evolve. In 2010, the Joseph Rowntree Charitable Trust (JRCT) awarded the Project a grant to develop a Whole School Approach to conflict.
